I was eager to test out the DJI Mini 3 Pro so I packed a bag, hopped on a Divvy, and went to some of my favorite spots along the Chicago lakefront. The following YouTube video features North Ave Beach, Buckingham Fountain, Oak St Beach, and the Burham Yacht Club. The drone exceeded my expectations in all regards. It was small and inconspicuous, easy to operate, and the battery life was not as bad as I was expecting.
For anyone seriously considering shooting video, I highly recommend the fly more combo from DJI which gets you two extra batteries that have a higher capacity (original is advertised at 34 min max flight time, fly more are 47 min max flight time). The only caveat is that the larger capacity batteries put the drone's total weight over 250 grams which means that you'd have to register it with the FAA. I've already done that here but it might be a deterrent for the hobbyist looking to fly below the radar (🙃 couldn't help myself).
